Birdie for ALL Putting Event @ Ronald McDonald House at Stanford
2/13/2012 - Young patients practiced their skills on Birdie for ALL's 9-course putting green in the Great Room at Ronald McDonald House at Stanford. Some of the kids were so eager to play the game they came directly from treatment.
Eleven Birdie for ALL volunteers, including several nationally ranked golfers and junior golfers, guided the McDonald House players through the challenging course. New players formed a huddle wth the volunteers, who explained game basics.
San Jose State University's championship women's golf team sent their assistant coach, Dana Dormann, and two team players, Jody and Megan to teach putting skills to the youngsters. Jeannie and Lori from Technology Credit Union also provided guidance, along with Mike O'Neill, who had designed and donated the putting green.
Birdie for ALL's own Jr. Event Coordinators Timoteo of Borel Middle School, Matt of Abbott Middle School and Grace from Challenger School arrived early to move furniture, unroll the greens and set up the course.
